How to plant seeds
Easy planting in 3 steps
Step 1: Prepare seeds and cold environment:
To grow green onions using the cold method, you first need to prepare quality green onion seeds. Then, before sowing the seeds, you can put the seeds in a bag or damp cloth and place them in the refrigerator for about 1–2 weeks. This method helps simulate winter, stimulating the germination process of the seeds.
Step 3: Harvesting
After sowing, maintain a cold temperature throughout the growth of the plant, water regularly but not too much. As the plants grow, you can protect them by adding a layer of mulch or straw to help retain moisture and reduce temperature. After about 30–45 days, you can harvest the green onions when they reach about 15–20 cm tall.
Step 2: Sow seeds in cold soil
After the seeds have passed the cold stage, you can sow them directly into cold soil. Choose loose, nutritious soil with good drainage. Place the soil in a cool place, or if you grow indoors, you can use pots with low ambient temperatures (about 15–18°C). Sow the seeds 2–3 cm apart and cover with a thin layer of soil.
